Ignite Jennings County, a program of the Jennings County Economic Development Commission, is looking for innovative thinkers to share their personal and professional passions at our first-ever IgniteJC event. Based on an idea-sharing pitch competition held in over 100 cities worldwide, speakers will have 5 minutes to present 20 slides, each of which is shown for 15 seconds, to share a new innovative idea or way to improve the community in a fast-paced fun environment. Competitors will pitch their ideas to the panel of judges for funding. The event will award seed money to the Most Innovative Idea and the Best Community Project: Downtown. A fan favorite will also be awarded the night of the event.
Best Community Project: Downtown
This project must benefit downtown North Vernon in some way such as a small business, developing an underutilized space, public art, or other community development opportunities, but remember, creativity is key!
Most Innovative Idea
This category features a new idea, technology, project, or business. Maybe it's a new startup in the county, a cool new technology, or a concept you'd like to take to market.
Presenters will be selected after completing an online application describing their proposed presentation. Applicants will be asked to answer a series of questions about their idea as well as share three images that somehow illustrate the idea. These can be images they found online, a photograph a friend took, or a diagram they created. These images should be similar to the images they would use in their PowerPoint presentation.
